Marta Domínguez Prieto
Marta Dominguez-Prieto is currently a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology in the Leicester School of Pharmacy at De Montfort University (DMU) and the Pharmacology Group Lead within the LIPHI Research Institute.
She obtained her PhD at the University of Salamanca. Her research is focused on neurodegeneration, studying the molecular mechanisms of neurogenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease, with a special interest in mitochondrial dysfunction.
Marta is also actively involved in science communication and outreach through the Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK (SRUK/CERU). During 2025, as part of the SRUK/CERU Neuroscience Committee, she organised the travelling exhibition “The art and legacy of Santiago Ramón y Cajal”, currently being exhibited in Oxford after touring through the UK for over a year.
